Experience a New Culture, a New Language, and a Different Way of Life

Ms. Gabriel Martin and eight Grade 11 students will participate in an Easter 2018 Service Trip to El Salvador from March 24th to April 2nd . This service opportunity is in partnership with our fellow Jesuit school in Winnipeg, St. Paul’s High. Joining us on the trip will be students from St. Paul’s and their President, Fr. Len Atilia and teacher, Dennis Kuzenko. Mr. Kuzenko has organized and lead a number of these service trips to El Salvador for St. Paul’s. As the focus of this trip is service, a large portion of each day will be spent working on community projects. This work includes intense manual labor. We wish to congratulate Sam Anderson, Sarah Carew, Liam Gale, Aaron Greenland, Evan Hanson, Anna James, Michael Parsons and Ashley Stringer for being selected to take part in this amazing opportunity.

The group will fly to Toronto where they will meet up with the contingent from St. Paul’s. Together we will travel to San Salvador, El Salvador. We will be staying at Casa Oasis in San Salvador, and will travel into surrounding communities to participate in social, cultural, and service experiences.

This trip will allow students to experience a new culture and the realities of life in a developing country. In keeping with our mission to form men and women for and with others, this opportunity will facilitate a commitment to awareness and social justice on a global scale.
