Shaping the lives of children who benefit from Bursary Assistance

ANNOUNCING THE XAVIER SOCIETY

Named in honour of Jesuit, St. Francis Xavier, the Xavier Society is an opportunity for alumni, friends, parents and benefactors of St. Bonaventure’s College to support the Bursary Program. By investing $200 per year for five years, these benefactors support our goal of offering this unique educational and character-building experience to applicants from all income levels. The Xavier Society uses these donations solely for Bursary Assistance. Membership is open to persons under 40 years of age.

JOINING WITH OTHERS

The Xavier Society will operate with the same objectives as the Ignatius Society. Since 2011, the Ignatius Society has raised over $200,000 to support the demands of our bursary program. Members pledge to support this important work by contributing $1,000 per year, for 5 years. Upon completion of the pledge 100% have committed to renewal.

ST. BON’S: THE TRADITION CONTINUES

St. Bonaventure’s College is an independent K-12 Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition with a welcoming and diverse community offering a progressive curriculum aimed at creating a safe, challenging and inclusive educational experience. The school is focused on forming confident men and women of competence, conscience, compassion, and commitment. St. Bonaventure’s College is the only remaining Catholic school in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, operating under the tenets of its original founding in 1856.

WE ARE INSPIRED BY ST. IGNATIUS LOYOLA AND THE SPIRITUAL EXERCISES

Because we are a Ignatian school inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, we try to ensure that no child is unable to attend St. Bonaventure’s College because of financial circumstance. Our Bursary Program provides financial assistance for tuition for those in need. The school receives no government funding, and therefore this program must be funded from outside sources separate from student tuition fees.

One in 11 of our students receive some form of assistance. This demand continues to increase each year.

By committing to the Xavier Society you can help shape the lives of many children who benefit from Bursary Assistance. You will join alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends of the school to support the legacy of St. Francis Xavier, St. Bonaventure’s College, and its students. Thank you for your support.

We are happy to meet to discuss your participation in this Society and its work.
