St. Bonaventure’s College is proud to announce the launch of the new St. Bon’s Hockey Skills Academy (SBHSA).

This program will accept students from Grades 4-12 with the mission to develop player skills through on ice and dry land training.  On entry, students will be assessed to determine their skill level, following which they will be assigned to one of three groups. It is important to note that this program is designed to enhance individual skills and should not be mistaken for a ‘learn to play’ program.

The students will be divided into sections based primarily on their grade, with a slight consideration given to individual skill level. Additionally, the number of players within each group will depend on the quantity of participants for each grade level. Included in the cost of the program is apparel, which can be worn as part of the Holland Hall Physical Education uniform.

Mr. Shane Skinner will be the Program Coordinator for SBHSA. Mr. Skinner comes to St. Bon’s with extensive experience in the minor hockey program, including Goaltender Coach with the St. John’s Midget ‘AAA’ Maple leafs and Tricom Peewee ‘AAA’ Thunder. For the 2017/18 season, Mr. Skinner will be the Assistant Coach for the Tricom Peewee ‘AAA’ Thunder.

Registration forms and a brochure were sent home with Grade 4-12 students on Friday, September 29. Registration forms and deposit are asked to be returned to the school by Friday, October 6. Registration forms can also be downloaded here.
