Founded in 1856, St. Bonaventure’s College is one of the oldest educational institutions in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.   The school opened on December 1st, 1856 in The Old Palace on Henry Street.  It moved to its present location on Bonaventure Avenue two years later.

Beginning on December 1, 2015 the school will begin a celebratory year of activities leading up to the 160th anniversary. “The year will include the launch of a new sports brand and the reinstitution of the “St. Bon’s Sports Day,” said St. Bon’s President, Tom McGrath.   Other events and activities are planned for the year involving alumni and current students.
