The Parent Auxiliary
The St. Bon’s Parent Auxiliary is a group of parent volunteers dedicated to fostering community spirit within our school environment. As such, we host several school community events (Fall Fair, Breakfast with Santa), coordinate teacher appreciation events in February and August, provide refreshments for Heritage Fair and Science Fair, host receptions for Opening Day and Mother’s Day Mass, and much more. Each year, we are looking for new parents to help plan and execute our events.
The PA hosts monthly meetings – generally the meetings are at 7:30pm on the third Tuesday of every month with the exception of December and March. Final meeting dates will be confirmed at the AGM in October. We are looking for parents to serve as members of the Executive, Parent Representatives for each class, and At-Large members for Holland and Mullock Hall.
Executive Positions (positions are elected at the AGM in June):
President – The president presides over monthly meetings, serves as the primary contact for the administration, represents the organization at meetings outside the organization, and serves as an ex officio member of all committees.
Vice President – The vice president assists the president and carries out the president’s duties in his or her absence or inability to serve.
Secretary – The secretary maintains all records of the organization, prepares the minutes for the monthly meetings, prepares the agenda, handles correspondence, and sends notices of meetings to the membership. The secretary also keeps a copy of the minutes book, bylaws, rules, membership list, and any other necessary supplies, and brings them to meetings.
Treasurer – The treasurer is responsible for depositing all organizational funds with the school. He or she will present a financial statement at every meeting.
Special Events Coordinator – The special events coordinator is responsible for overseeing all community events and receptions hosted by SBC PA. Duties include: enlisting event chair(s), recruiting volunteers, manage necessary resources, and maintaining event notes.
General Membership:
Class Representatives – A minimum of one person per classroom is appointed to be a class representative. Duties include communication liaison between PA and parents, helping to recruit volunteers for school events, attend monthly PA meetings, support PA and school sponsored events as required.
Members at Large – There are an unlimited amount of at-large positions available for Mullock and Holland Hall for parents who cannot serve as Parent Reps. Duties include supporting class representatives as needed, attend monthly PA meetings, support PA and school sponsored events as required.
