John French is the father of two students at St. Bonaventure College, Liam (Grade 8) and Claire (Grade 5). John is married to Kelly Burke.
Since 1999, John has practiced law with French & Associates. He graduated from the University of New Brunswick law school in 1998, and he also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Queen’s University.
John is currently the Chair of The Salvation Army Citizen’s Advisory Board for St. John’s, and a past member of the Community Council of the Wiseman Centre and The Salvation Army’s Hurricane Igor Committee. He is a long standing volunteer with Bicycle Newfoundland and Labrador (BNL) and a past President of BNL. John is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Cycling Association (CCA), and a past member of the CCA’s Governance and Insurance Committees and the CCA’s Inter-Provincial Council. John has also been an instructor with the Sprockids introduction to cycling program.
John is an avid cyclist and skier, both cross country and downhill, and enjoys backpacking and camping with his family.
