Fiona is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Memorial University, and Academic Editor at Memorial’s scholarly press, ISER Books. She and husband Rob moved to St. John’s eleven years ago with their then infant daughter Susannah; Susannah has been at St. Bon’s since kindergarten and is currently in grade 7.

Fiona grew up in Hobart, Australia, where she attended the Catholic school Mount Carmel College. She holds a doctorate from the University of Tasmania and prior to her appointment at Memorial taught at the University of Tasmania, and at Université Sainte-Anne in Nova Scotia. Before returning to university to start postgraduate work, she worked for five years as a project manager at the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

As an educator herself, Fiona is a passionate supporter of St. Bon’s commitment to academic excellence, and deeply appreciative of the school’s emphasis on social justice.
