As we begin our Easter break, I am mindful of the abundant graces each of us has in our lives: families, friends, health, opportunity, shelter, food, water and security.  Let us give thanks to the Lord for all of this.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me; he has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the prisoners, to announce a year of favor from the Lord and a day of vindication by our God, to comfort all who mourn; to place on those who mourn in Zion a diadem instead of ashes, to give them oil of gladness in place of mourning, a glorious mantle instead of a listless spirit. You yourselves shall be named priests of the Lord, ministers of our God shall you be called.” – Isaiah 61:1

We are so blessed to be part of this Jesuit school community, a community unique in recognizing and celebrating God in the day-to-day of our lives and in the faith traditions of our sisters and brothers here at St. Bonaventure’s College.  Each of us has been anointed by God, to help those around us, to be our best selves and to proclaim a life acceptable to the Lord.

On behalf our faculty and staff, I wish you all a very grace-filled celebration of the Easter mysteries.
