On Friday, January 29, members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Pleasantville Branch 56, came to the school to present awards to five of our students for their annual Poster and Literary Contest. The contest assists the Legion in its goal of fostering the tradition of Remembrance amongst Canadians.
The five students that received awards for the 2015 contest are:
Grade 5 – Alex Collingwood – Junior – Poetry – 1st Place
Grade 7 – Meghan Whyte – Intermediate – Poster – 1st Place
Grade 8 – James Godsell – Intermediate – Poster – 2nd Place
Grade 7 – Jenna McDonald – Intermediate – Poetry – 2nd place
Grade 9 – Julia Naterer – Intermediate – Poetry – 1st Place
The school also received the School Program Poppy Appreciation Award in recognition of the support given to the Remembrance Program.
