St. Bonaventure’s College hosts a number of fundraising events each year. These events help us to raise money to complete projects in the school that tuition fees do not cover.


The walkathon is an annual fundraiser run by the Principal’s Office that raises funds to support a variety of curricular initiatives.

Funds from the Walkathon have bought extra reading resources for Grades K-6, paid for busing for many field trips, helped pay and subsidize activities for Spirit week and Literacy week and much more.  This year we are scheduled to have our Walkathon on September 28th (weather permitting) and like last year, grades K-3 will walk to Bannerman Park and Grades 4-12 will walk to Quidi Vidi Lake.  Any parents who would like to join us are most welcome to join us and help.

Fall Gala 

The Fall Gala is held in the late Fall and allows the St. Bonaventure’s College community to participate in an evening of fun and socializing while supporting the fund raising needs of the school.  Evening activities include a wonderful dinner, a dessert auction, a silent auction, a live auction, and many raffles and games.  The auction items attract lots of attention and provide opportunities for experiences and acquisitions that cannot be found anywhere else.  Attendees from prior galas say this is one of the high points of our fund-raising year.

Each year, St. Bonaventure’s College holds its annual SBC Cash Lottery from January to March. The Lottery features a Grand Prize of $10,000, second prize of $2,000 and third prize of $1,000. We also have various prizes for our ticket sellers. Tickets for our lottery are $10 each or 3 for $20.

The money raised from our lottery helps to off set the cost of various facility’s improvements. In past years, the lottery has funded the following projects: Cafeteria Renovations, Parking Lot Upgrades, Gymnasium Upgrades, Aula Maxima Renovations and Upgrades to Campus Grounds.

Golf Tournament

The Annual St. Bon’s Cup Golf Tournment is held each June. Participants enjoy an afternoon on the green at Glendenning Golf, followed by a delicious dinner back at the club house. Each year the St. Bon’s Cup has been more successful than the last. The proceeds from the St. Bon’s Cup supports the ongoing projects in the school such as facilities upgrades, curriculum enhancements, the bursary program, etc.
