Congratulations to our Grade 6 classes for completing the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program through the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. For the past 10 weeks, Constable Ken Milks has guided Ms. Bruce’s and Ms. Smith’s grade 6 classes through weekly sessions exploring the realities of peer pressure, alcohol and drug use, and the importance of staying true to your morals.

The accomplishments of the students were celebrated today in a wonderful ceremony. The event opened with the “Ode to Newfoundland”, led by Luci T. Morgan H and Owen R did a fantastic job as Masters of Ceremonies while Patrick Q and Bethany L delivered amazing speeches about their positive experiences in the program. Together, the classes performed “I Will DARE” by Michael Wagman before Constable Milks presented each with their certificate of completion.

Thank you to Ms. Bruce and Ms. Smith for organizing the event, Ms. Gatherall for preparing the music and Constable Milks for delivering this amazing program.
