Tom Power, host of the CBC radio program Q has just announced St. Bonaventure’s College Wind Ensemble under the direction of Vincenza Etchegary are winners of the national award for Canadian Music Class Challenge, Category 5 – High School Instrumental.

The ensemble recorded “CBC Olympic Theme” by Marc Cholette (arranger: Grayson Mathews) which is the theme music for the CBC coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Wind Ensemble Director, Ms. Vincenza Etchegary had this to say about the win:

“Everyone loves the iconic CBC Olympics Theme. We really enjoyed arranging this theme for our Wind Ensemble and adding a little Newfoundland twist. Our school community is incredibly honoured and excited that our students will have the opportunity to be a part of the 2018 CBC Olympics broadcast in February!”
